This guard very solidly and very securely does what it says on the tin. The contents of the box, when the ends are attached using the plates (which you have to screw to the wall, screws but not rawlplugs included) form a crescent shaped fireguard. It's a really strong cage, especially if you lock together the joints (with the included Allen key). The gate at the front is opened by a slide and lift mechanism. The fireplace in the middle is kept securely away from any small sprogs. You will still need a sparkguard, of course, but the fire should be safe from most types of accident. If you need to, the whole guard can be lifted vertically out of the slots on the wall, and readily replaced (though beware that it weighs about 9kg, so isn't too easy to life and slide in.

Perfect for keeping the kids from melting their selves to a log burner. Works as expected. Build quality is good and it doesn't get hot either. Would make a good cage too if your looking for a inconspicuous way of purchasing one without raising suspicions. Maybe get two and put them back to back... a third would complete the cage roof too. Probably.

Good solid fire guard - easy to remove if not needed and quite easy to put up in the first place. The size is useful as I can keep wood baskets etc inside it out of reach.
