My daughter has all sorts of dummy's & Heimess chains for every outfit so we practically have them all, some dummy's with rings some not. The heimess 'tag' on the dummy chain pulls the string tighter so it can be pulled taught around the 'ringless' dummy's like the mam ones, hold the last bead as you pull it gently tighter. If you have a ringed dummy (like the avent ones) thread the string loop through the ring and hoop it over the heimess 'tag' on the dummy chain, not over the clip at the top. Either way baby has their dummy attached and it is safe and sound. If the loop is too long tighten it before you loop it through a ringed dummy again by pulling the heimess 'tag' and again holding the last bead on the chain.

The string is designed to give and any stretching has no detrimental effect on the dummy chain, that is why there is a pull mechanism built in to allow for give over time & taking up any slack. It's not rocket science and we didn't take long to figure it out. They are...

Heimess Horse Soother Chain, 31 Dec. 2010

Liked the design and thought the previous reviews thought highly of the product. However we soon realised it doesn't fit the Avent dummies no matter how we tried. Bought a tommy tippee soother chain instead which is much better as it has a plastic flexible ring which could be unhooked to fit the dummy holder/ring through it. It comes in 2 pack for a fraction of the price of this product.

Lovely clip, impossible to thread., 8 May 2012

I bought this clip in conjuction with the multicoloured beads one. I had no problem looping the avent soother through the beads one, but this one is impossible: Once I got through the horse, I thought I had it, but when I got to the flower, the thread loop was just too short to go over it and the little wooden tag. It had nothing to do with the soother, as it was nested on a tiny bend of the thread. The loop was just too short to go over the different parts of the clip itself, so no hope of threading a soother through it.The clip is beautiful, but useless if you want to loop a soother. 2 millimetres more of thread would have made all the difference.
