The extension consists of an extension to add to the existing belt, plus a pad that has Velcro on both sides. One side has the 'rough' Velcro, the other side the 'soft' Velcro. It appears that the pad is designed to stick to one side or the other of the existing velcro-ed part of the seat belt, thus lengthening it slightly, with the additional extension added to the belt added for security.There were no instructions included and, try as I might, I cannot find any way to extend the Velcro belt without the 'rough' side of the Velcro on the pad sticking to my clothes. I have no idea if im doing it correctly or incorrectly as there is not even a picture diagram. I am so disappointed.Update 17/02/15 I am pleased to say that Hippychick gave me a prompt no-quibble refund on my purchase - thank you for that! 5/5 for customer service.

This extension for the hip seat is fab although I didn't need the extention for the clip whilst wearing round house I may need it while wearing over a coat
