Some quality control problems (running ink), 2 Dec. 2010
We had high hopes for this product, but the moment our son put one of the blocks in his mouth (an inevitability during its routine use), black ink got all over his face, mouth, clothes and carpet.I contacted the manufacturer (October 2010), who offered to send us a toy of similar value. The company, true to their word, sent us a nice train set as a replacement.Apparently, they had a bad batch of the blocks, and the situation has been rectified. I am sure it would be a good product, if this indeed true.So, the product in our case was a failure, but the company is reputable and took care of us.

Very disappointed, 11 July 2013
The blocks were quite a bit smaller than anticipated, which I could have lived with, but they had a very strong acrid smell, which we can only suppose came from the burnt on letters/pictures on certain sides of the blocks. The real down side to the blocks was that they were not solid lumps of wood, as expected, and a few of them seem to have chips out of them where splinters of wood had been removed. This was really concerning as they were to be a birthday present for a 1 year old.I was very disappointed with this purchase, but Amazon were very good when I asked to return them!

Disappointing, 12 Nov. 2011
I am really disappointed with these blocks. To start with, the box is not 'sturdy' as advertised but flimsy and a finger trap. The blocks are tiny, poorly finished and the edges are sharp. They are not particularly colourful and I feel that the paint will come off very easily. Suitable only for 3+ and this should be indicated in the listing. The seller was helpful, offered to refund and told me they are not responsible for the description - I find this rather odd, as who else is?
