hungry caterpillar pull along, 22 Sept. 2011

We love the hungry caterpillar and Eric Carle illustrations but this is Not my favourite pull along-it turns out.All the pieces of the body twist round which means the four wheels are constantly not in position for rolling which is frustrating to our tiny user.The wheels are small in comparison with the body so its not that sturdy-its a bit top heavy-not that good on carpet in comparison with other roll alongsThe pull string is small and a bit useless-probably for safety reasonsThe paint chipped easilyIt looks cute on a mantlepiece where it now stays as its too bothersome to pull along.Idea is good but it needs some improvements-much bigger wheels and the body segments need to be more 3d perhaps balls or lozenges. The twisting segment feature is partly the thing that contributes to it not working that well. Paint job needs improvement. Paint too thick and brittle-balls would chip less easily than current edges.

string breaks in two, 1 Jan. 2013

The string for this toy breaks in two in the middle with a little plastic join. My 12 month old pulled it apart easily and managed to stuff the loose end of the string into his mouth.I can't understand the purpose of the string being able to break into two peices?? I also can't work out how to contact amazon regarding this, perhaps i'm missing something??

The sections twist freely which makes it very hard to keep it in a configuration where it can be pulled along. The pulling string is pathetically short... probably 'ealth and safety laws. Very attractive though - I'd have put it on a shelf but I don't have the space.
