This thermometer is awesome! It works just as well as temporal thermometer without having to actually make contact with the skin.

I tested this out on several objects and was able to get pretty accurate readings, from what I can tell anyway. I scanned my forehead and behind my ear. Then I used an oral thermometer to verify and it was only off by a couple of points of a degree.

I was also able to get the surface temperatures of my computer and monitors which was quite useful.

Pros:

1. Affordable compared to other good thermometers.

2. Fast. You aim the infrared at the surface you wish to scan and pull the trigger. It scans in a matter of seconds.

3. Accurate. As stated previously, I tested the readings I got from my forehead to my oral thermometer and got similar results.

4. Batteries last. It takes two AA batteries and automatically shuts off after 10-15 seconds. This is great because you don’t have to worry about accidently...

Perfect for household use!, 26 April 2016

This thermometer is easy to use and seems to be accurate. Although small and compact enough, I think this thermometer is best to be stored at home even though it does come with a handy pull bag to store it in which will help to keep it clean. Hylogy does do a smaller model which I feel is best for travelling as it more compact then this particular model. I do however like the shape of this model and it feels very comfortable to hold and use. As the thermometer is a non-contact it is especially good for taking the temperature of baby's or small children without causing them distress or having to wake them whilst they may be sleeping. The directions booklet is clear and easy to follow. You simply hover the thermometer 3-5cm over the temple, eyebrow or behind the ear lobe of the patient and press the test button, within 1 second the temperature reading flashes up on the screen and beeps once.
