Being in the medical profession myself, I'm always on the lookout for a good thermometer that's easy to use. So far, I've tried at least four different contactless thermometers. None of them left me particularly confident in the results, as when taking a reading, I had to check it no less than three times to only get an estimate of what the temperature is. I always got varying results; sometimes the temperatures would only slightly vary, while at other times the variation was huge. So I stopped using them as they were simply unreliable, and reverted to tympanic thermometers.
So when I received this one to trial, you can understand my reluctance to believe it would be any different. How I was wrong. Trialing on myself and numerous others, the MAXIMUM variation in temperature I had was 0.1 of a degree no matter how many times I tried. Fantastic result! I absolutely love this thermometer. It comes with a handy little carry bag which will help to keep the thermometer clean. It's small, compact and light enough to take on holiday or kept in a baby's changing back. As the thermometer is a non-contact it is especially good for taking the temperature of baby's or small children without causing them distress or having to wake them whilst they may be sleeping. The instructions booklet is clear and easy to follow. You simply hover the thermometer 3-5cm over the temple, eyebrow or behind the ear lobe of the patient and press the test button, within 1 second the temperature reading flashes up on the screen and beeps once. If the temperature is within normal limits the back screen light shines green and shows a happy face. If the patients temperature is a bit higher than it should be the screen back light shines yellow, with a little sad face. If the patients temperature is high enough to be a cause for concern and get medical advice/help...

How it works
You need to apply the AAA batteries to the back of the Thermometer.This is easily done by taking the clip out and putting it back in.
The Lcd screen has three buttons underneath it
1 is Mode
2 is Memo
3 is The on and off button
The LCd has to between 3-5 cm away from the body to measure your temperature
It picks up on you temperature but not just that it has a colour indication too.
So if your temp is in the normal range 37c it lights up green and has a smiley face too.
If your temperature is slightly high 37.4-38c then it will display a Yellow...
