This does exactly what it says. I'm totally scared of spider so have up this up access my windows, it was big enough to do two windows. There wasn't quite enough Velcro to do both the windows but I bought extra else where. The Velcro has stuck fine to the window. I can now sleep easy knowing no spiders can crawl in the window :)

Excellent netting, poor velcro, 7 Jun. 2013

As someone who likes to keep his windows wide open in summer, but hates the small army of insects this seems to attract, I'd been meaning to buy some netting for a while now and finally got round to it. With few of Amazon's reasonably-priced options (I'm an impoverished student, so the cheaper the better) having received particularly stirling reviews, it was with some trepidation that I ventured into the unknown and bought this reviewless kit. The netting itself is large enough to, even when cut as poorly as I did, easily cover both of my windows so no complaint there. A few dead moths and flies entangled in the netting seem to be testament to its pretty effective ability to prevent the nasties from entering my room. The supplied velcro tape is my main source of grief and why I have awarded it only 3 stars. Enough was supplied to encircle most of each window, however I had to leave a few gaps. It is also rather thin, so whilst it clings to the netting sufficiently well it tends to...

I am using this for all the small windows around the house and they have done a good job of keeping the insects out of the house all throughout last summer. I took it down before the winter to clean all the windows - it could still be reusable from last year but I couldn't be bothered to wash it. For this price, you can just get a brand new mesh each year even if you need more than one sheet.The mesh is very fit for it's purpose - it's stretchy and strong enough to keep opening and closing the window by grabbing the handle through it, providing you dont overly stretch it when positioning the first time, stretch so its straight and without any folds but not soo much to have it pulling at the velcro.The velcro's sticky side is only good to put up and position the mesh - after a few hours it starts un-sticking beginning from the edges so I have had to stick a clear, invisible tape over the edges all the way round and it had lasted all of last summer.
