does not deter rats!, 8 May 2014
Im sure the soap works as soap.But we read some posts that suggest it keeps rats away because they dont like the smell. It didnt work for us, the rats just took the soap when it was cut small. When a full bar was left out they just eat it.So we now have clean rats!

Smells OK which is the main reason I bought it. "ALLEGEDLEY" this soap has something in it that mice absolutely hate, have bought it for the main purpose of cutting up into cubes and sprinkling around a loft space. I Know sounds stupid, but I heard about this from a guy who stores combine harvesters over winter, and was fed up with the damage caused by mice, so who knows will have to wait and see if it works. Also tried it for washing and it lathers well and smells good.
