The Kiddy Guardianfix is suitable for children aged 9 months to 12 years approximately (suitable from 9kgs - 36kgs) Group 1-2-3. Like the Guardian Pro 2, the new Guardianfix Pro all the same features with added isofix connector giving you a more secure fitting. It has deep protective side wings, side impact protection and increased performance shock absorber. The adjustable headrest head support has a breathable thermotex materials for added comfort. The Guardianfix can also be reclined for more comfort on long journeys. The Guardian Pro (Group 1-2-3) car seat uses Kiddys proven impact shield from 9-18 kgs (Group 1) which has been designed to reduce neck injuries in frontal crashes. The new Kiddy Guardian Pro also features Kiddy's unique and improved Kiddy Shock Absorber (KSA) that reduces the force of the impact onto the child. From 4 to 12 years (15-36kgs) the impact shield is removed from the Kiddy Guardian Pro and the child seat becomes a highback booster seat which grows with your child. The multi-adjustable head support and be adjusted with just one hand to ensure the correct fit at all times. We bought this seat for our 13 month old as he had outgrown his first car seat. He is within the tecommended weight band as suggested by the manufacturer. We thought this was a great option as it would last him until he was much bigger and it has some great safety features.
We fitted the seat as per instructions and put our son in as per instructions. It is fine on a short journey but if he falls asleep he is able to slip down leaving him with his head on the middle bar and at a wonky angle. When he wakes up he cannot lift his head up and screams until we can find somewhere to stop and put him back into the seat. We have done everything we can to make sure we are following the correct guidelines but I do not think this seat works for a smaller child. We all hate this seat so much we have resorted to buying a Maxicosi Pearl as we were happy with this brand as his first car seat.
Perhaps the seat will be suitable when he is a year or so older but at this point we...
