Another awesome Mushy Mushy product! This mat is made of a lovely smooth silicon. It's supple, flexible and yet the container areas are strong. It's super easy to wash after use. My 16 month old loves it - it's so tactile, it gives her more independence with her finger foods and I can relax knowing that she's much less likely to throw the lot on the floor. She also spends ages sorting the foods while eating and moving them from one section to another, so for her it's even encouraging her fine motor skills. I'm not sure our table surface grips it as well as some of the other reviewers have said - it still slides forward and back a little bit (perhaps some suction cups at the corners could help with that?) - but if you grip the moulded container-y bits in the middle and try to pull up it's got a ironclad grip! I'm also finding that when using it I try harder to offer a bigger variety of different foods, which of course is going mean my little one eats a wider range of tastes and...

Perfect for weaning., 6 Oct. 2016

The Mushy Mushy kids placemat is a brilliant product for any weaning parent. We already have the Mushy Mushy silicone food storage pots, so knew that this product would be of the same high quality and we weren't disappointed. The product is really well made and I expect it'll wash over and over without losing its flexibility or colour. The silicone is very high grade and lovely and flexible. The five compartments definitely set it apart from the other similar products on Amazon, it means my baby that likes to graze can have even more choice on one plate. Plus the happy face keeps meal times fun and exciting for him.I've only given the product four stars instead of five because I struggled to get a good fit, the placemat needs a flat area to get a good level of suction, so just check the measurements first. Otherwise this is a great product from a great company.

Makes the weaning clean up operation much easier, 6 Oct. 2016

We are Baby Led Weaning. And yes weaning is messy - but this mat helps to make it much easier to clean up afterwards. Instead of a full scrub down of my baby's highchair to remove the stuck on Weetabix, I can now put the mat into the dishwasher and let the machine deal with the worst of it! It saves me invaluable time in the morning before dashing out to work. My baby loves it too. I have found he throws less on the floor when using this mat - he previously liked to have just one item on the highchair tray at a time. But now he seems happier to have several different items of food there to revisit throughout the meal as he wishes.
