Very good, but scale is very hard to read, 22 Nov. 2014

I wanted glass bottles because I wanted to reduce risk from chemicals. I chose the LifeFactory bottles because unlike the glass Avent bottles (which are rare as hen's teeth in the UK), they come with a silicone sleeve. The other alternative I examined (Dr Brown's) I discarded because of the number of reviews I read complaining of the time it takes to clean the "anti-colic" system it uses (the small tube inside the bottle). Looking after a new-born is busier than hand-to-hand combat - the last thing we need is another fiddly task to deal with.

The bottle comes with a slow teat suitable for newborns. Our son (one week old) seems to have no trouble with the teat, and feeds happily from mum or the bottle without "nipple confusion", but YMMV. It does seem to create a vacuum effect towards the end of the feed, but that may be me over-tightening. Out baby does end up ingesting quite a lot of air at the end of the bottle, but giving him a cuddle to burp him is...
