Customer Video Review Length:: 0:36 Mins I bought this 10507 My First Train Set by Duplo together with the 10506 Expansion Pack. And had the great pleasure of seeing my fifteen month-old grandson on Facetime (from San Diego) chasing the train around the track in the West Country, England, on Christmas Morning. I think/believe is much better than the online description, The train/locomotive Is motorized - I had not expected this, so a bonus! - always good to buy rechargeable batteries, and fortunately I had previously gifted these for other purposes...Eneloop are especially good... - and makes steam train sounds. The expansion pack with track points allows for an outer semi-circle when constructed as the designers intended. The train goes past the points without difficulty, contrary to one or two reviews. Just great fun, and a great gift, without hesitation, as a first train set, when bought together -10507 and 10506- to delight a grandparent!!, and a young child!!!

The best toy in the world!, 6 Feb. 2017

It's LEGO, it's DUPLO. (I have written those words so many times now, I just want to say d'uh!) Dudes, dudettes, you know what LEGO is. This is superb quality, you know what you are getting. If you find something wrong with DUPLO, you should reconsider your life-choices.

So this train is battery operated, with a button on top that my 1 year old learned to operate in 0.4 seconds. It also has a small hole where you can put that little watering hose, and it will make 'glugg glugg' noises. Once you turn the engine on, the train will be running for approximately.... I don't know, about 1 minute, perhaps less, before it turns itself off. It does make a 'choo-choo' sound while driving around. I bought some extra track off of eBay as this is just tracks enough for a round circle, and I believe they must be off-brand. (Gah!) As a result, I cannot attach normal DUPLO-wagons (not trains, but the other 4-wheel things you can build on), as the turn is too steep, and the train then gets...

Well put together but not engaging., 16 Feb. 2018
As a product this is fine and deserves sufficient stars for being a good toy, but I've marked it down as it's failed to engage my two daughters who are in its target market. We quite enjoyed making the tracks and it all clicks together in reassuring Lego/Duplo fashion, plus there are plenty of options (though we also got the expansion pack so this actual set might be a bit more limited). However that seems to be about as far as it goes; once we got it built and sent the train round a few times it was on to something else (generally the Toot Toot Drivers train).
