My partner and I are due our second addition in early weeks of October, if we have learnt anything through our first that having a newborn will most likely alter your routine drastically, from not being able to do the washing up, making sterile bottles and other simple chores around the home though this isn't always possible when your alone. As we found out the hard way when our eldest was hit with the dreaded "Croup" to a point he'd only settle whilst being held (preferably close to mummy).

Whilst using this Fabric Cradle, we have come across both its positive/negative points from my own user experience. These are entirely my own I'm not staying you may have the same experience as this is completely individual to ones own opinion.

With a 10 day old baby, we had bought the Baby Bjorn carrier for hiking with the dog but it’s fairly chunky and not ideal for pottering around the house. I wanted something that my wife and I could use to wear our new-born boy in that isn’t too cumbersome. I had seen the traditional sling harnesses in our NCT class and thought they looked a little complicated but then decided to give one a go anyway. I’m glad I did as it’s really comfortable. I guess that these slings are all much of a muchness, after all – they are just a long piece of fabric that tied in a particular way allows you to slot your baby in nice and securely and get on with jobs. This particular one is a nice material that feels fleecy to the touch (Nice and warm??) and comes with a carry bag that allows you to keep it tidy when not in use. It’s unbranded and doesn’t come in any more packaging than that but you do get some instructions. I threw these out (they mention looking for...

Comfortable Way to Keep a Baby Close, 2 Aug. 2016

This is a lovely large material baby sling which is available in three colours. I chose the black sling. This is designed for use with babies so that you can keep them close to you without the strain of carrying them in your arms. The shoulders and back take the strain. This is a soft material which is comfortable for both the adult and the child. There is plenty of material in the sling so it will fit anyone wanting to carry a child in this way - even you 6 foot 6" Dads can use this!

This sling comes in a draw string bag for storage. There are also instructions included but I have to admit that I found some youtube videos which were much more helpful.

I am pleased that this sling is machine washable - you know what babies are like!

I did find that I started to get really quite hot in this sling on a summer day. There is a lot of material wound round the adult as well as the child. Also where you are both so close together you do tend to heat each other up. This may...
