why oh why did i spend so researching this boring area when my friends had this gate already! perfect if you want pressure fit, a unobtrusive design and one-handed closing. enough said. stop researching, buy this now and go spend time with your baby!

Not Safe and Fell Apart, 26 April 2014

I bought this a few years ago and then bought another as I was happy with the first gate. However the second gate fell apart just after a year. As I already had another to compare I noted that it was the welding which was at fault. My other gate which has held up fine had bars that were welded at 2 points to the main frame. The faulty gate had bars that were welded at one point only to the main frame. I imagine if a baby had tried with certain force to go through the gate it could have been a serious incident.I contacted Julie Richardson at Lindam about this and they were not interested as the gate was out of warranty. Obviously they do not actually care about safety so as a result I feel compelled to write this review. I will never buy another Lindam product again for this reason. Do you know if yours gate is satisfactory and your children are safe?

Safety at a reasonable price, 22 Aug. 2011

We purcahsed this product as we rent our property and didn't want to drill holes in the walls. The product requires you to purchase additional parts if your staircase isn't standard size. Its not the fault of the product that we don't have a standard sized staircase but found the product frustrating to fit secrurly even with the extension.
