Expensive but ever so long-lasting and versatile., 15 July 2012

My child was given this Learning Tower at the age of about 2 and has not stopped using it for a year.

It's incredibly sturdy, really useful for kids to see what's going on on kitchen surfaces and to get involved - plus just climbing into it is a challenge at first.

Age 2 was a little too young to be using it as there are large gaps in the structure for kids to get in and out easily. Obviously, you need to supervise them very closely at all times. I also tied a scarf along the back for an extra barrier out of paranoia at first in case she suddenly fell backwards and I couldn't catch her in time, although I'm sure that's not official health and safety advice!

It's been wonderful for doing cooking together, or for her to play with toys or playdough while I prepare dinner next to her. Especially earlier on, it saved her from feeling left out and not being able to see what I was doing.

One downside is that it does make the kitchen worksurfaces more...

Just what I was looking for!, 11 Feb. 2013

I give it 4 out of 5 stars because it is still so new that we haven't used it much yet. But I hope to end on a 5 with more experience with it. So far I can say that this was just what I have been looking for since my daughter reached an age (12-18months) where she was old enough to be interested in what happens in the kitchen but with me (fussy mother :-) ) worried that she will fall of a chair. Have considered building something ourselves but not found the right design but here it is! We have not used it so much in the kitchen yet but the few times have been a succes. Our daugher has tried helping with baking and dishwashing and enjoyed the overview. But actually she has mainly used it as a "secret place" so far where she loves to sit with books and dolls in a corner of the kitchen.

It is rather big but not as horrible to have in the kitchen as I feared. Just be careful with the feet which you can stumble over. And we plan to add something ourselves to close the whole...

Great tool!, 30 Sept. 2013
A great purchase even though my daughter hasn't used it too much between 14 months an 18 months (it isn't recommended before 18 months anyway). I am sure that she is going to use it more as she grows, as she already enjoys standing in there and playing "busy" with her kitchen utensils next to me on the counter when I cook. Great bonding accessory and it saves me having to cook with baby in the baby carrier, which can be hard on my back. Just give baby a few vegetables or the ends that you are cutting off (under close supervision of course) and she'll have a ball discovering those while you cut the rest of the vegetables WITH BOTH HANDS (much easier than with one!!)
