Constructive Eating Utensils Set is available in Cutlery

Of course you're not supposed to play with your food, but try telling that to the child that won't eat anything unless there's some sort of game involved. Make dinner time a fun activity with the Constructive Eating cutlery set. Each piece of cutlery is shaped like some kind of cool digger, so your nipper can have a wail of a time excavating mash, bull dozing peas or spearing carrots! The utensils are rugged and light weight making them ideal for little fingers and a must have for every meal. Perfect for getting used to their first knife and fork and gives them a bit of space to enjoy.

Fun, good quality materials and practical, 4 Feb. 2013
I bought this as a present and it put a smile on everybody's face. You can open the plastic pack that it comes in and re-close it without damaging the packaging, so I was able to verify the quality of the plastic and workmanship - which is very good. Cannot comment on the actual dining experience as the toddler is not mine! But ... I was very tempted to buy a set for myself. If you are depressed, or it is a dull rainy day, this cutlery definitely picks you up (pardon the pun) and puts sunshine on the table!

good idea, performance lacking, 6 Nov. 2012

My 3-y.o. got this set for birthday. He's a fussy eater and is currently into diggers, so this looked like the deal.

Unfortunately, I have to say, although this set looks nice and is VERY sturdy (no way even the wheels would break off), it's much more a toy than cutlery.

The spoon is quite small (a teaspoon rather than something fit for eating with) and also shallow, so won't scoop up much. And if it's soup or sauce or other liquid food you've given your child, just forget it - a pipette would hold more than this spoon.

The knife is quite hard to use as a knife (took 2 adults 10 minutes to work out where the cutting blade was) and as such is only good for pushing food around the plate, which doesn't help with actually GETTING ANY INTO THE MOUTH.

The fork is the only useful part of the entire set, but even that isn't as convenient to use as a standard fork.

All in all, I'd say if your child refuses to eat some foods fullstop, this...

Our little Kiwi loved these, 17 May 2013
Part of a 2nd birthday package for our grandson in New Zealand. Well received. He is tractor mad so this was a good choice.
