This is more of an add-on pack for someone with an existing pump (no pump is included) so if you are purchasing this to help a new mother please check what system they are using. There is no point in getting this one if they are using Philips or other brand as you cannot mix-and-match the products.

Included in the package you receive:

2 - 150ml bottles

1 – teat for bottles

3 – disposable nursing pads (4 in a packet)

1 - microwave sterilising bags

1 - purelan lanolin

5 – “pump & save” freezer bags

Any expressing mother knows that bottles are always at a premium no matter how many you have they never seem to be enough. So a couple of extra bottles will never go amiss.

In addition to these bottles you will receive a single teat. Since there are 2 bottles 2 teats would have been a nice idea as you will probably find that you are sterilising one when you need another.

Great Addition for Expressing, 21 Feb. 2015

At the time of writing this review the main product information for this set is incorrect as the information for Medela's Breastmilk Store & Feed Set is showing instead of the correct information for this product which is the Medela Breast Feeding Starter Set. I have emailed Amazon to advise them of this error and so hopefully the page should be corrected shortly to show the correct information. Please therefore note that you do not get 4 bottles with this set as currently advertised as this is only with the Store & Feed Set.

I would personally say that this is more of an addition set rather than a breastfeeding starter set as if you are breastfeeding solely on it's own, you realistically wouldn't need the majority of this kit. If however you are combi feeding or using a breast pump then this set is a really good addition. The set comes with the following:

T The Medela Breastfeeding Starter kit is a great product not least because it introduces you to a range of the Medela product range which is, in my opinion, the market leader.

The kit contains two bottles which if you are looking to express and then feed a baby with a bottle you will find no better than this one. The kit also contains a teat which closely recreates the action of the baby when feeding. I had previously been unsuccessful with my older daughters to make the transition to a bottle and they would not feed from a either an Avent or Tommee Tippee bottle successfully. With great relief, I have been able to achieve this with this bottle!

There are also storage bags which are well made and have a place to write the name of your baby (if leaving with a carer) and the date it was produced.

The steam bag is certainly useful but will only withstand 20 uses so probably better as a travel option instead of taking your steriliser. For me, I would...
