Requires patience but worth it in the end, 9 Mar. 2014

Unfortunately I had a traumatic birth requiring an emergency csection and unfortunately I was incredibly unwell afterwards. As a result my milk supply never came in. I had always intended to breast feed and had only considered bottles as an option later on when I would be able to express. Sadly my dreams were shattered.

I bought the sns after recommendation from a lactation consultant. My baby loved to latch on to the breast and would happily suck for 30-50minutes at a time. I would then give a bottle and then use a breast pump for stimulation - never actually managing to express any milk.

The sns in principle allows you to bottle feed from the breast. For me this cut down the time of our demanding 3hourly regime and helped my baby to understand that the breast should be where the milk came from. In theory the stimulation should encourage milk supply. Sadly my milk has never come in due to how unwell I have been however the sns has allowed me to get the closeness of breast...

Breastfeeding within 2 weeks, 5 July 2015

I bought this as my 10 week baby had been struggling to stay awake while breast feeding and I'd tried every other way of keeping him awake and encouraging him to suck more strongly. I used it with both expressed breast milk and also the one bottle of formula we were giving him each day (as he'd had dramatic weight loss around 5 weeks) Within 2 weeks of using this, my milk production is up and he's feeding well and rarely needing top ups any more. It's a little fiddly at first, but latch the baby on one side and then get yourself set up on the other before transferring him across. A great product!

Great for if you need to topup or build up your milk supply, 14 April 2008

This is a good idea. I personally had to topup my baby with perscription formula milk so to stop teat confusion this was the tool to use for me. Your baby gets what is in the supplemental nursing system and breast milk at the same time so it keeps your milk supply up or boosts your milk supply up, as baby is stimulating the breast to keep them producing milk. It is a bit fiddley to use at 1st but once you get the hang of it its great. I'd recommend this if you'd like or need to topup and keep your baby soley on the breast and also avoid teat/nipple confusion as giving baby a bottle while breast feeding too early can cause teat/nipple confusion.
