This bottle works well, the teat offers a good flow of milk and it has proven to be a useful accompaniment to breast feeding with no trouble feeding from the bottle for expressed milk. The only negative is that 150 ml will only be sufficient for very young babies and so this bottle will soon be outgrown.

I have a Philips breast pump which I wouldn't swap for anything, but sometimes the feeding bottles which come with it can cause a problem. Rather than the baby having to work to get it milk it tends to just dribble out of the end of the teat without any pause for the child to breathe or swallow.

The Medela Calma has been specifically designed to emulate the nursing mother's nipple. This means that the nursing child will have to put in the effort of sucking on the bottles teat in order to get its food, just as it would if it was feeding naturally from mum.

The design of the bottle teat is very interesting and unique.

It comes in three parts:

- a base which forms the seal to the bottle and has three holes in it;

- a middle piece which has a central diaphragm and three legs which fit through the three holes in the base plate. This then screws onto the bottle, but before putting the central piece on you must attach the teat;...

FINALLY!!!, 10 Jun. 2014

After spending so much money trying out other bottles, I discovered this one and fell in love!! My breastfed baby drowned herself with other bottles and immediately projectile vomited! Expensive but SO worth it!
