.On first viewing the Medisana 2-in-1 Swivel Cosmetics Mirror looks sturdy and well made. The pedestal is well weighted and gives suitable balance. The swivel action is nice and smooth. One side gives normal magnification, while the other side has a magnification that is five times normal. The size of the mirrors is perfect for makeup use, such as makeup application, with one regular side. While the other providing magnification for more close-up detailed work. My partner really does thinks that this mirror is rather good. It only requires 4 x AAA batteries for the LED function. There is a nice subtle on off switch on the back top rim of mirror.All in all a good mirror that has more than one use.As a Safety Warning, best not to place mirrors in direct sunlight..

This shaving mirror comes with instructions but they just tell you how to put batteries in and advise you not to put in the dishwasher. It comes with batteries and it takes four AAA batteries. The illumination is by LEDs so they should be long-lasting.There is an on-off switch at the base. One side is normal magnification and the other side is 5 x which does give you a good degree of magnification for shaving .

It's a chunky design, made in Germany. It's a nice quality mirror. It's quite stable. It's not wobbly or rickety like some mirrors.The finish is shiny chrome. The thing I like about this mirror is that it is a good height which means you don't have to crouch too low down if you place it on a shelf or ledge. All in all, from top to base, it measures 33 cm. The diameter of the mirror is 13 cm.

I've had cheap illuminated shaving mirrors in the past and been less than impressed with them, so I thought this would work much better in comparison. I was surprised...

Useful makeup mirror with LED light, 29 Dec. 2015

This is a useful chrome-framed portable cosmetic mirror, especially if you have difficulty finding a regular place with adequate lighting to do your makeup. It's quite large, but stands on a relatively small base so it doesn't need a lot of room. One side is a normal mirror, the other magnifies, so great for detailing or compensating for any short-sightedness. It can be a little bit alarming first thing in the morning, though, as it shows up every imperfection and blemish! It tilts and swivels, so you can adjust it to any angle you require. It also has a LED light panel around the rim (takes 4x AAA batteries) which casts a gentle, generalised light without dazzling you or casting harsh shadows.

My only criticism is that it was quite difficult to unscrew the two halves of the mirror in order to install the batteries - I managed it in the end but had to get help from my son as it was very stiff. The only other potential problem I can see is that it's fairly easy to leave...
