Lightweight, folds easily, stands up and takes a car seat, 29 Sept. 2010

Having done A LOT of research looking for a pushchair that would fit into the boot of our car, be manoeuvrable, deal with the rough paths (and sometimes no paths) in our village and be usable for both my 5 foot 2 wife and myself at 6 foot 2.

Car seat & adapters

While we use a babybjorn carrier for really rough walks, the Micralite is used daily around the village and when MrsA goes off to various baby events (NCT group, baby signing, baby music, baby massage, baby cafe,...). At the moment because our daughter is only 3 months old, she rides in a maxi-cosi pebble car seat which is then plugged into a couple of car seat adapters on the Micralite. We had a job getting hold of these but as one of the baby sites was having a sale, we bought the Micralite bassinet for £50 which comes with a set of adapters. We tend to use the bassinet as a cot in the sitting room rather than as a pram as the car seat is fine for shorter walks.

The stoller does not fold up...

Best buggy on the market!, 30 Jan. 2014

I wish someone had told us about this buggy earlier so that we could have started using it from the recommended age (6m+) onwards! We have previously owned both a Bugaboo and MacLaren and the Micralite beats both by a mile.

Top points for:

- a single handlebar rather than two handles. We can easily manoeuvre the buggy with one hand. Most of the time one of us pushes the buggy with one hand and we still manage to hold hands as a couple whilst being out on a walk - how many parents can say that?!?!

- big wheels - again making it easy to manoeuvre the buggy

- easy fold up mechanism - one push and the buggy folds up

- stands by itself when folded up - super practical

- mesh seat - ideal for the summer - not sure why not more companies thought of this - it really is a no brainer. Seat liner can easily be added for colder months.

- super light

- rain cover and UV cover (buy separately) are effective, fold up small in pouch and do a great...

Major problem with the handlebars and terrible customer service, 29 May 2012

This pram, whilst very light and easy to push, has a major flaw which, in my opinion, negates any of its positive aspects - namely the failure of the handlebars to stay in place. They are moved by flipping up a catch on each side, adjusting, then tightening the catch and returning it to a downward position. However, soon after beginning to use my pram, I found that when pulling the catch up, it became impossible to fully tighten it. As a result the handlebars would move. This was incredibly dangerous as I'd be pushing the pram up or down a curb and even the slightest pressure would make them angle down. At one point, the whole pram tipped forward and I only just managed to prevent my toddler landing on her face in the road. However, I wasn't so lucky and landed heavily on my knees.

I contacted Micralite who suggested I send the pram back so their engineers and design team could look at it. I was told the washers had worn and the pram was returned with supposedly new washers...
