The Miller Medical fingertip pulse oximeter is a portable, non-invasive, spot-check, oxygen saturation of arterial hemoglobin (Spo2) and pulse rate measuring device. It is suitable for Adult and Pediatric patient usage, at home, and in Hospital (including clinical use in surgery, anesthesia, intensive care, etc). It is not suitable for use in continuous monitoring.

Now includes free rubber boot, and lanyard.

Reasonably accurate but cheap build quality, 31 July 2013

My wife and I are both doctors, I wanted this as a spare to keep in my personal medical kit that I carry when I might get asked for help. I checked it against my wife's more expensive device from her GP practice and it gives similar pulse and saturation readings. I'd be confident in it giving me a guide as to roughly where the sats lie. The display is clear and bright, and the waveform display gives some reassurance that it is actually doing something before the numbers appear.

The build quality is very cheap and I don't think it would survive being dropped or sat on. The lanyard is very hard to thread through the holes. Most importantly, there is *no cover* over the light source and sensors, there's just a hole in the plastic with the component exposed underneath. Fine to keep for rare emergencies or as a backup, but useless for regular clinical practice where it will get cleaned many times a day - I don't think it would last a month.

So - fine for my intended...

works very well on adults and children and has proven useful in many cases of cute asthma at our clinic. The display is easy to read and will work automatically, no need to turn it on or off.
