Over the years soaps and shower gels have become seemingly more technologically advanced, and are sold to us as being better than products of days gone by. But are they really? Most shower gels contain more than 90% water, all you are really paying for is a fancy packaging and a promise of exceptional performance and an annoying smell.
With these traditional bars of wool fat soap though, you are paying for 100% active material, and one that is guaranteed to perform. The soap is a white waxy tablet, with little or no perfume just that old fashioned soap smell. The selling point is that this soap is high in lanolin, or the fat stripped out of sheep wool. Sounds horrible, but this is actually a great cleaning/softening product. It's very gentle, leaves you feeling clean and feels great. It works up into a nice lather, something else I miss with modern gels.
