If you're looking for a cot which was character or style, this isn't it. But if you're looking for a plain and simple cot and the price is right, this might well be it. It's the no-frills vanilla ice cream of cots.

Assembly is very simple. It ships in a box which is only slightly bigger than the cot side, which I was easily able to fit into my Renault Zoe (equivalent to a Clio) with the back seats down. It's essentially just five pieces- the two ends, the two barred sides, the bottom bit- and a bag full of screws. A few minutes with the provided allen key and you're done- no tricks, no frills.

The wood (or possibly MDF) that's been used feels surprisingly light, but only slightly on the flimsy side. It's secure, and it will withstand any abuse that a tiny baby can throw at it, but it's not the sturdiest or most heavy-duty cot I've ever seen. Simple but well-made basic cotbed. Suitable from birth to about 4 years, 8 Dec. 2015

If you're looking for a no-frills, but still nice looking, basic cotbed then this is a nice choice. It takes a 140x70 mattress (not included) and we have bought a coir/latex hypo-allergenic mattress which my baby son finds very comfortable - he's asleep on it right now, while we are staying at Granny & Grandad's house.

It's very easy to assemble (especially if you've assembled a cotbed before) and I built it in 15 minutes on my own while my mum was babysitting my son. The bolts are very easy to fit, all the pre-drilled holes are where they should be, so it all lines up nicely. (This is not always the case with some baby furniture that I've come across in the past).

The end panel inserts are slightly flimsy, they are not solid wooden planks like on the more expensive cotbeds, they are white plywood I think, but that said, they still are fine, just not quite as solid as the top end models. Likewise, the bars are basic round-turned spindles rather than flat bars...

Nice cot but could be sturdier, 3 Dec. 2015

Arrived today and was put up in half an hour or so, this is now sitting in baby's room, looking very pretty with its curved feature tops on the ends. This is a larger sized cot that converts into baby's first toddler bed so you will need to make sure you have a cot bed mattress to fit (140x70) rather than the more standard cot size (120x60). I have a nice sprung mattress which will make this nice and comfy for baby.

The cot looks very nice and feels quite sturdy although the way the sides attach means that they flap a bit so if you have a little one who likes shaking the sides of their cot this may not hold up as well as some other types. The curved tops on the ends make it look quite attractive and take the basic look off it as it is a basic flat-ended cot otherwise. It should look lovely as a first bed too and will be very easy to convert. I think it will be sturdier as a first bed than a cot as you don't need the sides so no risk of flappiness here.
