I bought this to replace an old non-digital baby monitor. So far, I have not been disappointed!

In my personal experience, I have found many of the features useful. I will summarise each one:

Portability of the 'parent' unit - I love this, it is so handy to be able to clip the monitor to your belt and get on with your day, the rechargeable battery is an excellent addition and removes the worry about wires and disposable batteries.

Audio - absolutely crystal clear. You can go from 'Volume Off' to a maximum of 'Volume 5'. Even with the volume off, you will know if the baby is crying as the unit bleeps to alert you. The sound detection is incredible. My baby tends to sleep best with white noise so I play a repeated vacuum cleaner track. The unit does pick this up if it is quite loud, but if I select 'Volume Off', the unit only bleeps if my baby cries. What more could you ask for?

Microphone to comfort baby - I have not used this very much but it does...
