its very easy to set up, 11 Feb. 2015

Our first step to trying and getting some together time was buying a video monitor. We purposely did not buy any monitors until our son was about 4+ months but when we thought he was ready to sleep a few hours on his own, this buy definitely gave us the peace of mind every parent wants when their child is sleeping and they want to have dinner together!!

For starts, its very easy to set up. The monitor is excellent- i did initially choose the one with a smaller monitor and bought this one which was 10 pounds more expensive but its money well spent. The pan tilt function is excellent so unless the baby is miles away from the camera, you can make adjustments by just using the arrow buttons to centre your baby's head in the middle of the screen. The infra red feature is also handy as it means if you want to u could turn all the lights down and still clearly see the baby.

The audio is also very clear and the talk back feature sometimes help reassure the baby, though we have...

Peace of mind and great entertainment!, 6 Oct. 2014

I got this for my baby grandson, as the one they had was falling to pieces. They are delighted with it, and sent the following report:

"It's really good to actually be able to see him. It has been really interesting also to see him going to sleep. Before, we could hear him crashing around but were never sure what he was up to. Now we can see him moving around, trying to get comfortable, throwing his toys out, taking out his dummy and running it along the bars of his cot (like a prisoner with a cup). On first day we had it our nanny spent 35 minutes watching him after putting him to bed as he was doing stuff the whole time.

Pros:

-Great to see what he is up to.

-Microphone really sensitive; if we turn it up we can hear him breathing.

-Love it that you can move the camera remotely, so as he moves around in the cot we can recentre camera on him.

-Can talk to him from our end.

-Thermometer is handy, although...

Bigger screen than its cheaper cousin, but consider whether you really need the thermometer function, 8 Oct. 2014

The baby monitor aspect of this is very user friendly and requires zero technical expertise to set-up. Simply plug the camera into the wall and plug the rechargable handheld into the charger, press the 'on' and the feed automatically comes on and you are done. One small grip on the baby-end setup is that the camera, which can be left free standing or screw mounted, doesn't pivot enough to allow the unit to be attached to a vertical surface (e.g. a wall), meaning you have to stand it on something flat (bedside table etc).

The video is bright and clear at the resolution of the screen and the infrared nightvision is spooky but very clear - you can see very clearly, albeit in a sort of monochrome spec-ops vision, in what the human eye would perceive as a pitch black room. This unit also has a more generour screen size than the cheaper...
