An excellent little gadget - while it lasts, 8 Nov. 2008

I bought two as I suspected they would give different readings (as thermometers often due). I was wrong - they both give virtually the same readings although they did need the best part of an hour after "opening the box" to settle down. Definitely recommended and I am buying two more for different rooms in the house.LATER...these worked well to start with but within 18 months both meters developed a high pitched whine and quickly ran the batteries down. New batteries installed and the same thing happened so I have had to lower my rating for the gadget. A pity because I liked it.

Good thermometer, 5 Mar. 2010

So I got this and was impressed by its small and compact size

Only have it a few days but seems to be a good product and also seems accurate

if moving it from one room to another, you need to leave it in the new room for about 10 minutes for it to correctly gather the temp in the new room

one thing I cud not find in product info was if it measured negative temperatures. e.g -2, -3 etc.

I tested it by putting it in a freezer and it does indeed display a - value, got to -8.2 in the freezer : )

The Min/Max function is handy too. The way it works - you press the MEM function on back of unit, from this time it will start recording min and max. Then come back in 1 days time, or 1 hours time if you want and press the Min/Max button, it will display the min and max temperature during that period

one small negative about it is the cover for putting in batteries, difficult enough to take it off

the batteries are small roundy ones,...

Originally purchased one of these, and now have FOUR in different rooms.NO you do not need to have children to purchase one of these - i havn`t.Works really well, showing humidity and temperature. Also very acurate as i have two in one room and both show same readings.Small and compact so does not take up much room.Highly recommended. ***** FIVE stars.
