Best bit of baby kit I've bought, 2 Aug. 2010

I spent hours researching travel cots, including going to shops to test how easily they errect, this included the phil and teds travel cot and the traditional travel cots. Here's my thoughts to help save others the time!

We bought the large blue NScessity travel tent because:

- it was the easiest to assemble (it pops up in a second)

- it is quick/easy to pack away (watch the demo on the NScessity website first)

- it is very light and we take it on flights, also easy for train/car

- our baby loves it because no matter where we have taken him, the inside is familiar to him, he feels safe and secure, he first slept through the night in his tent at 9 weeks!

- it gives us flexibility to go on holiday or to friends for dinner or lunch without disturbing our baby's routine or environment, because when he's inside he can't see that he's not in his own room

- a normal fitted cot sheet fits on the self inflating mattress. Put the mattress inside the tent with...

much smaller than a bed, 11 Sept. 2009
Well, I had heard bad things about this type of travel cot because babies tend to stand-up and tip it over. But I think this one is just short enough that they can't really stand. Our baby is pretty easy though and when she is tired she will sleep anywhere! The truth is I have never seen her sleep in it, but according to her auntie who kept her for two whole days and one night- it took her a couple tries to get her to sleep in it, but after one night in it she got the point and has taken several naps too. I love that it is light to carry and all fits in a small bag. I don't mind that she will be in it for only 2 years because hopefully by then we will have the second baby using it and she will be able to sleep in a big girl bed. I like this little tent and would recommend it.

Great product. Well worth the money., 13 Mar. 2009

This travel cot is a fab buy and truly portable and compact. I was surprised at how small and light this item is yet once unfolded so comfortable and snug.

It literally takes a couple of minutes to put up. You undo the tie and the spring action does the rest. Stand well back though when you undo the tie as it does spring up with some force. The self inflating mattress does need a couple of breaths to top up but then easily zips into place under the tent. The soft cover then simply Velcro's in.

The instructions to collapse weren't great as the pictures were too small and blurred but they're repeated on the outside of the box. Once you've done it once then you really don't need the instructions again as it was a lot easier than expected.

The carry bag is also a very good size as there is plenty of room to put everything back in. It's not like a tent bag where you take everything out then only half of it fits back.

We went for the small version...
