Easy to use, no discomfort for ill child :), 24 Jan. 2016

I'm very happy with this thermometre.

I bought for checking the temperature of my young children, as with this you can do so without disturbing them/waking them if they're asleep, and without any discomfort for them, as the thermometre doesn't even touch them.

You can take the sound off so that it won't beep every time to press the trigger, and you can get the reading in either Celsius or Fahrenheit, as well as check the temperature of either a person or an object (you'll need to change the setting to get the correct reading if you want to do this).

We've had it for four months and really like it. My kids actually like having their temperature checked now, and enjoy the fact that they can check mummy's or daddy's temperature too!

It's as accurate as an oral (mouth) or tympanic (ear) thermometre, but comes without the slight discomfort these have.

A non contact thermometer with added advantages at a moderate price., 31 May 2016

This thermometer arrived in a neat box which included the two batteries required to operate it straight out of the box, also a useful operation manual. It does have a bit of a gun shape to it with a trigger that is used to start the temperature reading, which is clearly displayed in an illuminated window at the back. The instructions tell you how to set up the device so that it can bleep at either a very low or high body reading instantly warning you that urgent care is required and also helps in those moments of panic when you forget what the ideal temperature should be. There are some basic instructions written on the side to remind you how to operate it quickly. The best thing about it though is the fact that you can take a reading without your child knowing what is about to happen. The thermometer is easy enough to use. Its like a water gun trigger to use. To begin use, you just depress the button to get the reading, which is clearly displayed in an illuminated window at the back. The instructions explain to you how to set up the device so that it can bleep at either a very low or high body reading i.e. if you need urgent medical help. There are some instructions written on the side as well to aid in use.

This is simple and easy to use. The reading is instant. I really wish these were about when I was a kid! I would imagine if you had a small child that you were worried was running a temp even if they were asleep you would be able to get a reading without waking them.
