I love the dual functionality of this item! In this respect it is a fantastic gift for an expectant mother. Regardless of how an individual intends to feed their baby, all babies need a car seat! So if this cannot be used as a nursing cover- then the carseat canopy function can still be used! A huge plus in my eyes!
Upon opening the item, it was easy to see that this was a high quality item. The material is light, without being too thin, furthermore it seems to allow a lot of airflow, which is fantastic. The last thing I want is my baby feeing hot and stuffy when feeding.
Moving on, the item is a nice neautral colour. I feel this works well as it neither distracts baby when feeding, nor does it draw unneccessary attention to what you are doing.
Overall I could not recommend this item more. It's a cheap alternative to the more designer brands out there, while still being a high quality product. I have not been able to try this as a car seat cover as my child is too old...

My wife already uses a similar nursing cover that she got from a local craft shop. It's basically a cotton towel with a metal half-hoop at one end, and some strings to tie around the neck, but it does the job. The idea is that the hoop holds the cover away from your body in order to see your baby more easily whilst still maintaining privacy.
With this (rather more professionally-contructed) versio, the concept remains the same, only this time it's a much larger cotton towel with a more flexible metal strip at one end, which allows the canopy to be shaped whatever way you prefer. The larger surface area allows it to do double-duty as a 'carseat screen' to shield your baby's eyes from the sun. We found that suggested use to be rather a stretch. There isn't much about this cover that makes it especially suitable to the task.
