If you are forever hand washing bits (especially lids) from baby bottles once they've already been through the dishwasher then this is for you. I found that 4 avent lids, collars and insert rings fit nicely in the basket at the bottom and although you can fit 8 teats in the top section easily, I only ever used it for 4 at a time. I used the other half of the flip up lid for weaning spoons which fit perfectly!

It seemed (although how I don't know) to get the teats much cleaner than resting them on the top basket of the dishwasher and as nothing tips up from the force of the water everything gets rinsed properly! Love that part. It just seems that why have space for 8 teats but not enough room for the rest of the bits and bobs for that many bottles? There are flip down sections for inners from sippy cups etc but we are not at that stage yet so haven't used them although they seem sturdy. The basket itself fits very nicely on the top cup part of the dishwasher and stays in place...

If you decide to start cleaning your baby bottles in the dishwasher this is a very useful item. We use Avent bottles and this comfortably holds up to 8 teats on the top in an upright position and has lots of space on the bottom for rings, lids etc. However, you won't fit 8 bottles worth of the white rings, sealer rings and lids that come with Avent bottles! We can comfortably fit 5 sets of white rings and sealers (it looks like it could fit 6 but we've not tried)and use a different container to put the lids in. For us, the amount this basket holds is ok. Hope this is helpful information and well done if you read it to the end!

Too big and not entirely necessary, 8 Oct. 2012

I bought this thinking that it would be a good and practical way of washing the teats and lids of bottles (which always turn over in the dishwasher and end up full of water). However, I have discovered that the teats need washing separately as otherwise they really don't get cleaned well enough and the lids still turn upside down inside the basket. Also it takes up an awful lot of room in the dishwasher. Personally I wouldn't recommend it. It is not a bad product as such but I don't think it is necessary.
