Like someone else has mentioned, these have a very sharp small spike (Part of the grip locking mechanism) which can protrude from the rear of the grip. I managed to remove it using a small grinding tool.They will cut through thickened nails easily, but these are not suitable for professional use such as podiatry, as they have no CE mark.

These don't live up to the billing in the product description for me.They cut your nails ok(ish) I guess, but they don't conform to the gloriousnessof the description, not least in that they have rough edges (burrs), ratherthan the polished product offered, and so they are not that nice to use,which for what they cost is really quite poor. I haven't tried others of this typeso can't draw any comparison in this (supposedly) quality end of the market.
