The PenKid is a lockable window and door safety restrictor. It is a neat practical solution, that provides more than simple child safety. They are CE marked and come with a 5 year warranty. Whether you are looking to install it in the home, business premises, public building, hospital or school, these simple, practical and great looking restrictors help prevent accidents and increase security.

Penkid is made of a zinc alloy cast body and MS58 brass pin, all stainless plated. The cable is a stainless steel wire cable which has been tested to a breaking force greater than 550KG, and resists being cut by simple tools.

Available in 4 colours to match various frames and door units. White, Grey, Brown and Tan they look great on upvc, aluminium, dark wood and light wood, windows and doors.

Brought these for the upstairs windows for the kids safety and it seems sturdy enough to me, i put a bit of force behind one of them and its stayed true so i would suggest its enough for children 13 and under - wouldn't want to chuck my full 15st in to one. Really really easy to fit as well and i am far from a DIY god. Aesthetically never going to be pleasing but I've managed to bypass that slightly by hanging teddys and such things from on them. This is definitely for child safety, dont mistake it as a security solution, i work in security and a burglar would be through this in no time, either with a good tool or by brute force causing irreparable damage to your window frame. Overall happy with the purchase.

smart and effective, inexpensive option to keep your children safe, 27 Sept. 2014
Fitted them myself, never usually picking up a screwdriver as I have a perfectly good husband to do such things, found it very simple, took about 10 minutes to fit the first one then a couple of minutes putting them on each further window. Once fitted, they looked smart, did not detract from the look of the window, and I felt immediately safe having my lemming- like son playing around them.

This is my second purchase of this item as I was so delighted with the first. I have a house cat and I am using these so that I can have my windows open without my clever boy being able to get out. If I had toddlers in the house they would give complete peace of mind regarding safety. The product itself is of the best quality, strong and very well made. I have seen cheaper versions which I definitely would not want fixed to my windows. I chose the brown option as our windows are treated with brown Sadolin, they match perfectly.They are extremely easy to fit although we did go against the recommendation and positioned them at an angle so that the window did not open as wide as the product intends - remember it's a cat we're trying to keep in, not a toddler! If you need to remove the stay, so as to open the window fully, it is very quick and easy. We keep a key for the cable lock in every room the restrictors are fitted in case of fire.
