Lovely wooden letters and engine. The wheels are wood but are darker in colour. All very well made. Little metal hooks link the letters together, which means they do uncouple if not pulled on a track/over carpet treads but I thought this was good for helping with dexterity and coordination. My 3 year old nephew played with it for hours (just on the floor, or table, or sofa..) on Christmas day and even dropped them all on the floor a few times and it stood up to it very well. Very pleased with the purchase.
