for THICKER fluids they are perfect!!!, 18 Oct. 2011
My baby was born 10 weeks premature and as a result of that suffers from terrible reflux and has to have thickener added to his milk called thick and easy. We struggeled to find a teat that he didn't have to work soo hard to get the milk (all holes too small) or one that didn't poor it down his neck (holes too big) the variflow is perfect for his ticker milk and he can now take it with ease without choking on it. This is what ut was designed for, to use with milk that has to be thickened rather than normal milk. Brilliant for that purpose!!!!

We use these for Aptamil Comfort and our 4 month old, 4 Nov. 2012
My wife and I bought the medium flow teats Philips AVENT SCF633/27 Medium Flow Teat (3 Months+, 2-Pack) to try and get enough flow through for use with Aptamil Comfort milk. The thicker milk does not flow very easily through the number 1 and number 2 teats, but the 3 hole teats were fine up to the age of 4 months, at which point he can could easily cope with a bit more flow. We've since switched to these teats and our little boy is happily guzzling down 8 or 9ozs without spilling a drop. Although the teat does have a habit of closing in on itself because I think he sucks a bit too much - probably something to do with the thicker fluid needing more sucking power! The feeds now take around 10 minutes, which suits our little one just fine.So if you use Aptamil Comfort - these are spot on.

Quality product from Avent, 22 Sept. 2011
These aren't much cheaper than in the shops but any saving is a saving when you have kids. They're from 3 months and our son has just turned 3 months (14 weeks). We use these for a couple of the feeds but not all as while he is getting to the end of the size 2 teats, I think these are just a little bit big for him at this stage - some of his milk overspills which he no lnger does on the size 2 teats. In any case, these will be a necessity in the near future so why not get the genuine Avent product for a great price.
