The overall quality of the product hardly inspires a sense of confidence, whilst you get what you pay for, I am usually more than happy with Philips lesser priced items, this trimmer seems different and feels built down to a budget. Whilst the trimmer itself functions reasonably well, the trimmer is not the most ergonomically designed trimmer and feels a little awkward in the hand, a surprise from Philips who pride themselves in such important product design issues. The charge time of 10 hours for about 30 minutes use is bordering on unacceptable and there's no real indication when it may require charging or indeed the charging of the battery has finished. The battery is non user replaceable and I am not aware you could even get a compatible battery.
The trimmer does a decent job giving a choice of 20 different trim lengths from 0.5mm trough 10mm). The cordless function I suppose gives it a redeeming grace if you need one, in that you don't have to worry about plugging in a...

Given the range of electric shavers competing on the male grooming market it's good to see that there are some affordable, hassle free solutions that save some of us money on buying replacement razors, which, as a guy, is an expensive habit, especially when its on trend to have an after 5 shadow.
With the higher end shavers you ask "why spend money on a high end electric shaver when a replacement for it cost up to £25 (for example: Braun Replacement Foil & Cutter Cassette - 70S, Series 7, Pulsonic - 9000 Series?!"
For a vanity product the packaging is quite modest and no-frills. I've been through some luxury shavers in the past that put a lot of effort into presentation for when you first open the box only for you to throw it away!
It comes with all you need including a half charge so it's good to go, and (FINALLY) a UK power adaptor (most electric razors I've used come with European fittings to allow them to ship to a wider market).
On to...

This excellent product is delivered with a charged battery and delivers all its features straight from the box. On unpacking, first impressions are that is sits easily in the hand.
In the box is a compact mains charger and a cleaning brush along with instructions.
The weight and design of the trimmer is just superb, and the trimming head is just designed brilliantly. It has an angled guard that is designed to easily gilde along the face and a removable cover over the cutting edge that allows for easy cleaning.
What is especially good about this product is the range of cutting depths, - down as low as 0.5mm! This means you genuinly can manage the "stubble look".
The cutting blade just slides across the beard and trims evenly and to the exact depth of the setting.
I have had a Philips beard trimmer before but this is a massive improvement on the earlier models and you just know this will last and last.
Clearly an excellent product and a great...
