Excellent for trimming and shaving, 17 July 2015

This razor/trimmer is targetted to the 25 and under age group which my son fits into and the following is his review.

My previous experiences with electric razors has not been good, the hairs seem to be pulled out rather than shaved, I have sensitive skin.

Having had so many issues and with not enough time in the mornings for a wet shave I decided to try trimming my beard.

Since trying this razor my opinions have changed, it is so easy to use, including during a shower and I get a pain free experience.

This Philips razor changed my views on the electric razor when I realised I could have a pain free shave. Unlike my other trimmers that required guards to control the length of beard to be trimmed, this one has a single switch to change the hair length, very convenient.

To use said trimmer you simply pop off the shaving head and replace with trimming head. Both are easily cleaned by running under the water tap.

A great first electric shaver, particularly for anyone wanting to maintain a beard, 10 July 2015

This is a great entry-level product for anybody buying an electric shaver for the first time that also wants to maintain a beard. The price strikes me as higher than a lot of the entry-level shavers that I've looked at, but I think that it's the beard trimmer that makes the difference to the price. It's definitely more convenient having a trimmer as part of the package, and this one worked well for me.

The trimmer works at variable lengths, is easy to clean in running water and changes easily for the shaving attachment.

The shaver itself has only two heads, which is fine for people that are relatively early in their shaving life. I'd anticipate anybody that has been shaving regularly for ten or fifteen years might want to pay extra for a model with three heads, but this version works fine at a pinch.

Overall, Philips make high quality shavers. Knowing that this is aimed more as an entry-level product, you'd be unlikely to be disappointed in it. The...

This a well designed whisker styling tool that will bring a lot of fun to any man experimenting with a neat beard or stubble maintenance. The key gadget is the adjustable trimmer head, that sets the trim length between 1 and 3 mm. The device is run by a cleverly shaped rechargeable shaver, and the whole thing can be used under the shower, or with wet-shaving products. Then you just rinse it under running water.You can click off the trimmer and click on the shaver. That is a traditional Philips rotating-blade twin shaver head, as used by Philips for over half a century, and it works well for not-too-tough whiskers. A full-size, full-power shaver will do a faster job for older men who grow stronger bristles, but for lads newer to daily shaving, this device is easy, quiet, and smooth. A great present for a school-leaver, student, or some one not too far from that age.
