I can't believe it works!, 18 Sept. 2014

I fit the profile with pale skin and coarse dark hair, but I am really skeptical about hair removal products as experience has taught me not to believe the hype. But this really works. I shaved my legs 7 days ago before I used the Lumea for the 4th time, and only this morning did I have a couple of stray hairs to deal with. I used to have to shave every day!Yes it's a little expensive but to not have to deal with the stubble and shaving on a daily basis is worth it. While the Lumea is easy to use, it is time consuming when you want to make sure that you do it thoroughly to not miss areas and have hair grow in patches. And while it charges quickly, I can't do both legs and underarms on one charge, so it takes a bit of planning to do parts, stop to charge again, and then do the rest. It gets a little warm, but if it's painful you are doing it wrong. So I dedicate some time to this on a Sunday afternoon in front of the TV, and then enjoy the result for days to come :-)

I would highly recommend this machine as I have been bleaching my arms ..., 1 Feb. 2015

I was sceptical that this product would work and thought about buying one for 3 years. I have used the device twice now on my lower leg, arms and chin. I have dark hairs on pale skin. The hairs on my legs and arms are hardly growing now and are basically smooth. I will keep following the instructions and continue to use it every two weeks but there is really hardly any hair there when it's time for another session. I am having slower results on my chin but that may be because I become impatient and pluck them out before the machine has had time to do it's bit. I would highly recommend this machine as I have been bleaching my arms for 20 years and within 1 month of using the philips lumea, the hairs have almost gone!

Be aware!, 12 Nov. 2014

Be aware! If the device is not under warranty it cannot be fixed! I forgot to charge mine and it went off! I called Philips to repair it and they said it can't be fixed as the batteries went off. I told them it is a device which is charged but they told me, no, you have to charge it every 3 months even it is not being used. If it was under warranty they would replace it. Nowhere in the manual said that. I feel misguided. Be aware what you are buying and check other products too. I will definitely be more suspicious with Phillips from now on.
