The clock is a cute design, but not great quality. It is basically a clock face with hands (ie no casing or front glass). We found the hands very difficult to see against the background (as they are thin). I coloured them black, as the red didn't stand out at all. It helped somewhat, but even then the clock is no good for a child who is trying to learn to tell the time (nor for an adult standing more than 6 paces away!).

There are also other more negative reviews for this pirate clock elsewhere on Amazon but linked to a different clock picture. I am trying to contact seller to return so we can have something on his wall we can see clearly from distance

Pirate clock disappointing, 7 April 2014
Clock handles were bent and so clock would not work properly. Would be much more effective if it had a cover. Very disappointed child on his birthday.
