I haven't read the manual and I haven't read the spec published above. Throughout my time on earth I have learnt what shavers do, how they operate and what their purpose is. My review therefore focuses solely on the results achieved with this instrument.

First of all, this is a good weighty, robust item that feels nice and reassuringly solid in the hand. This is in direct contrast to the cheap and insubstantial Remington models I've used in the past which had led me to avoid the brand for years.

The shaving head itself pivots, allowing the user to get closer to the neck, in particular, and it produces a super-close shave when used on a daily basis. When you've not bothered shaving at the weekend and need a decent finish for work on the Monday, it also handles the three days of stubble with ease.

In addition, it has a neat beard trimmer. This served me well during the recent 'Movember' growing period when I needed to trim and sculpt the moustache into...

To me, this seems more powerful than your average shaver. I had previously used a Braun 340s-4. compared to this the F5800 has a bigger head, which tilts though not in a floppy way, and in my opinion gives a more comfortable and more powerful shave. The level of charge is very clearly shown, I liked this a lot, because rechargable technology seems to die quite quickly on you, catching you unawares as you dash off for a couple of days break. More comfortable because of the tilt head, with a bigger surface area than the 340. I prefer the 5800. More comfort, bigger heads, washable, clear charge indicator and a nice carrying pouch (soft).

Brilliant! You really would be hard pushed to beat this great little shaver - it's a fab buy from a respected manufacturer.One of the best features is the countdown (or up)to how much battery life is left/has been used.... VERY handy indeed. In fact, the battery has a really good length of charge, so it's a good job there is the green light system - or else you might forget it ever needs to be charged!!!Gives a good, close shave. No redness/rash (as some other electric shavers are prone to do. Neat little item, sturdy but small.All in all - for the money - this is a great all-rounder. Highly recommended.
