I've given this product (dark brown henna in this instance) just one star NOT because it doesn't provide good colour and coverage - reading the other reviews suggests it very much does - but because the product is not pure henna powder but has an admixture of several chemical substances of which I was not aware when I purchased it. (I know, I should've read the product information prior to purchasing.) The list is as follows; Henna (Mehendi), Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose, Barium Peroxide, Ortho Aminophenol, 4 Nitro Ortho Phenylenediamine, ppd and Ciric Acid. (I've written the list exactly as it appears on the product packaging, you can see how 'ppd' was written in lower case and thus may pass unnoticed.)
If you are, like myself, using henna products because of previous allergy to hair dye or you know that you are allergic to PPD, please avoid this product. You may want to try a 100% organic henna instead, there are plenty available here on Amazon...
