Pretty good at keeping fingers out of the soil but I feel that the pegs which secure it into the soil are not good enough and could be twisted and pulled out by little fingers. My 11 month old daughter still puts everything in her mouth and the pegs are long and thin like a pencil which worries me in case she got hold of one, put it in her mouth and then fell over as it would stab her in the back of the throat. The product is a great idea but doesn't give me enough peace of mind, so much so that my husband has decided to cut a circular disc out of mdf wood to place inside our plant pot instead.

Good but expensive!, 13 July 2014

My reason for buying these was to stop squirrels stashing their food in my plant pots and spreading the compost all over the garden. I've fitted them to outdoors pots and covered them with couple of centimetres of bark chippings. It appears to have worked!!! The squirrels tried but failed, and have now given up. However, they are VERY expensive for a thin piece of plastic! The mini version is easy to cut to size and fit but the large version is more difficult (each one is made up of four quadrants and there is a LOT of expensive waste when cutting them to size.

This is a good product, we had a big plant and our toddler loved playing with the soil....it was quite hard to cut not extremely difficult. if you have a ceramic pot, it may not be completely round like ours. we just had to overlap one joint but it still looks ok and keeps little fingers out of the soil.it is a useful product that does the job nicely.
