Great product with an unnecessary start up sound, 9 Sept. 2013

I have spent quite a bit of time reading reviews on video baby monitors and decided to go with Samsung SEW-3037W. Shortlist included Motorola MBP36 (issues with night vision in the long run), Summer Infant BabyTouch Monitor (no VOX) and this one.

We have been using this product for about 2.5 months and are quite happy so far. It has a lot of much needed features bundled in and has been reliable.

Goods:

VOX works very good with 2 sensitivity settings.

When the fan is on during summer, just set setting to low so it will ignore the fan and wake if any stronger noise is detected.

It goes back to sleep within a couple of minutes if/when the noise is gone.

Range is pretty good.

Have used only within a 98 square meter apartment (with some concrete walls) and the signal strength is strong everywhere

within that.

Silent operation when tilting/panning.

Clear enough picture.

The sound quality is very good and clear. We have not used the 2 way talk feature yet so unable to give an opinion on that feature.

There is an annoying tune each time you turn the monitor on but its no big deal, just remember to turn the monitor on while you are not near your sleeping baby if he/she is a light sleeper.

The picture quality is not brilliant but for this price it is to be expected. Night vision is very good at making it possible to see your baby, the quality is still poor though. X2 zoom is pretty much pointless as it is very pixelated.

If your looking for a product that will help you see if your baby is breathing this is not the product for you as the detail that the monitor shows is not good enough for that. If your looking for a product so that you can hear your baby with the added feature of being able to keep an actual eye on him/her then this product is fine.

Good monitor, great for using 2 cameras, 27 Aug. 2014

Hav used this product since December 2013, and have just purchased an additional camera as the boys are now in separate rooms in our new house.Only trouble has been the microphone getting blocked, which was cleared easily and hasn't happened since. Works as described appart from there is no temperature display as stated which I think is abit naughty!Pros - good view at night, good sound, works good scanning between the monitors, VOX mode is good at night.Cons - can be temperamental as with most samsung products, range is exaggerated, no temperature indicatorAll in all a good monitor, allowing you to see how they end up in to the positions that they do!
