As someone who had eczema as a youngster and has passed this on to my two young daughters, it's fair to say that I am acutely aware of all things eczema related including potential ways of managing its effect.
My eldest daughter has had eczema since around 3 months (she is now 5) and having tried all manner of ways of controlling her itching, this product remains one of the tools that we depend on again and again. When she was young, we purchased specially designed all-in-one sleepgro where the hands and feet are clothed. These only reach a certain age so we moved onto this product and we haven't looked back. These are brilliant. I know that they are primarily for children who scratch but they have also worked a treat for my daughter who has developed a habit of picking at any raised area of skin on her face while falling asleep. This strange habit developed several months ago and as time proved that she was not growing out of it & her face was becoming more marked we started to get desperate. Plasters & tape covering the scabs would be peeled off, vaseline to make the areas too slippery to pick was wiped away & cotton gloves would be taken off. Eventually a friend recommended these & we have not looked back. The double layer of fabric in the hand section makes it impossible for her to "pick" & her face is finally healing up.
I was expecting her to dislike them & try to remove them & put them under her sleeping bag, but this has never been a problem. She calls them her "puppet glove" & pretends to make it talk to us. We have also told her that it is to keep her hands & arms warm so...
