I really like this sleep bag. I have been a fan of them since my grandson started using one a few years ago when he was a baby; it kept him warm and cosy all night, despite him moving about frequently. If he was just under some covers, he would have got cold very quickly as they would no doubt have been thrown off. There is still plenty of room for those little legs to move and kick about within the sleep bag so it is not restrictive at all. However, it’s no good for swaddling (that means wrapping tightly, folks).

The one I have is white with grey stars and would be OK for either gender, though there is an alternative with pink stars for girls if you prefer it.

The zip goes right up the front from the bottom to the top. It might be slightly better if it was from top to bottom, as it would be so much easier to change the baby's nappy without waking him/her, andd there would not be the top of the zip under the baby's chin. Great at the price, and comes gift-ready too, 18 Sept. 2017

This baby sleep bag is part of a very nice new range from Silentnight. We tried the hooded towel, which was very nice, and this sleep bag is just as good. It’s a practical sleeper that you just pop the baby into and zip it up, job done. It’s 2.5 tog so quite warm enough to keep a baby snug from new-born to 6 or 7 months. As the baby’s arms are exposed, you’ll still need to clothe the baby in something, but that’s fine.

Nappy changing is not quite so easy, as the zip were two-way, so you reach the nasty stuff without fetching the baby out of the sleep bag. We wouldn’t knock off stars for that though. It’s a pretty-looking thing for a boy or girl and, being a sleep bag, it’s not easy for the bay to arm-wave or kick away and end up shivering. So far it has washed and tumble-dried well, too, which with so much pee, poo, dribble and milk all over the place is no bad thing.

A soft and cuddly indispensable piece of baby kit, 7 Oct. 2017

These sleep bags are an absolute must for babies, in my view. I always slightly resented paying 20+ quid for something that we would need several of and which would only be used for six months, but they are indispensable and terrifically portable, which means that once your baby gets used to wearing it - which takes no time at all - they will recognise it as a signal to sleep. That's my experience anyway! As others have said, the zip here may not be the best design, since there's a risk of waking a light sleeper for a nappy change, but again that has never been a problem in our family. This makes a much appreciated gift for a new parent. I sent this to my sister for her new arrival and she was very happy to get it.
