Warmth all night long, 16 July 2009

I wouldn't be without my Snuggle Safe 'hot water bottle.' Recently on a trip away I forgot to pack my Snuggle Safe (eeek!) but fortunately it was Amazon to the rescue, who delivered my replacement/spare to where I was staying the following day. Microwave it before bedtime, and it's still warm (not cold and clammy like a traditional hot water bottle) in the morning. Okay, so it's not particularly comfortable to lie on, but if it's chilly and you need warming up, pop it in bed with you and you're warm and toasty for the night. Having various health problems, including a long-standing back problem, I use mine all year round. Put it against your back for back pain or muscle spasms, on the tummy for period pains, put your feet on it to warm up cold toes, hold it against your ear for ear-ache...the list of uses is endless!

Fresh out of the microwave it's most definitely HOT! Eight hours (or more) later though and there's still a fair bit of warmth in it. It's perfect for anyone...

Snuggle Safe, 5 April 2009
I'm not sure what market this is aimed at. It is very efficient, it stays hot a long time and is very safe, but it is not cuddly, or good to wrap round aching back or joints. It is more like a hot brick, good to warm the bed but not the body, very rigid and hard, efficient but not friendly.

Still Warm in the Morning, 27 Jan. 2010
I totally agree with Kerry on this product. I had a stroke last year and seem to be cold most of the time, so I need a bottle in bed all year. With limited use of my hands, conventional bottles proved impossible, and I don't always have someone here to help. I tried the wheat-filled ones, smells of lavender but only stays hot for about an hour, stone cold in two. Then I bought a Hottie, which stays hot for about 2 hours with some residual warmth after 2 more. Neither is any good if you wake up cold in the small hours, unless you have a microwave in the bedroom. The Snuggle Safe stays hot for at least the 8 hours they claim, and I've still had useful warmth from mine 12 hours later. It's enough to just have it in bed with you - you don't need to make contact. I've now bought two more to keep me going during the day as well.
