At five weeks, our baby has started getting fussy (now at 7 weeks that is still the case), and we struggle to get him to stay asleep. I read about swaddles, having never tried one with our first child, and desperate to have a well-rested baby, bought one. £6.50 seemed a reasonable gamble.
I've now bought a second (as the first has been spat up on!). These have really helped. Not that the baby likes being PUT in the swaddle, having his arms pinioned, but he does actually go to sleep soon after being put down in it.
It's quite straightforward to put a baby in one, legs first, then attach some velcro, then one arm, then the other. Our son is only two months old but I knew I'd need the 'large' size as he's already 13lb and would soon outgrow the small size. I was right and the large is fine.
The velcro attaches well, and the size and shape fit our baby boy. I have no idea why there's a flap that opens near where a baby's bum would go though - any help on...
