Infrared Technology:
The Orksun Temposcan® Thermometer features infrared technology, which allows for temperature readings to be taken without contact. Hold the device approximately 1" from the person or object and simply point towards the reading target. Press the scan button and viola! you have an accurate reading in seconds. The thermometer captures the infrared energy that the person or object radiates. In seconds, 512 readings are taken and converted into a single temperature displayed on the screen. This offers fast, hygienic results with thorough accuracy.

Important Note:

This product can be used on babies, children and adults alike, it is so easy to use, Even if your patient won't keep still for you to take their temperature.You just simply hold the device about 2 inches from the head preferably and press and hold the button with a temperature symbol on it for 3 seconds and the patients accurate temperature shows on the screen. The instructions say that you should not take the temperature of the patient on the body, as an accurate temperature may not be obtained. However I took my daughter's temperature from the torso on unclothed skin and then from the head just to compare the results and I did have accurate readings from the body.This product is what I call fool proof, when the temperature is taken, if the temperature is normal a little smiley face appears on the bottom left hand side of the screen,...

This was quite an interesting product to test mostly because I have another non contact thermometer to compare it to, and an electronic clinical thermometer (via contact under the tongue) Like all non contact devices this uses infared to obtain the readings.
The Temposcan comes boxed with good instructions (very easy to follow and details how to use the device properly) you get 2 x AAA batteries in the box as well as an "ivory" coloured soft case which has a wipe clean outer surface.
On the top part are the main controls this consists of a red power on/off button, above this are two buttons one sets the mode to a person/object (important to make sure the right one is used (an icon displays clearly which mode you are in), right hand button cycles though the "stored temperatures" a total of 10 previous readings are held in memory...

The TempoScan is a non contact thermometer that takes temperature readings by using Infrared technology.
As somebody who worked in industrial chemistry I have actually used quite a few of these type of thermometers for industrial applications as they have been out for some years now.
This one measures temperature by using the thermal radiation given off by the source at a short distance. These types of thermometer are known as spot thermometers. This has a measuring range of Human. . . 34 - 42.1 (+ or - 0.2) Deg C and for objects. . . 5 - 100 Deg C
