This product is small and fits into the hand of an adult. The idea is to turn the white noise machine on, put the speaker to the baby's ear and the noise cancellation properties should help relax the child and send it off to sleep. There are 3 sounds to choose from, heart beat, rain and waves. The sound level is set at a low 75Db and there is a strap on the device, so as to attach it to your hand. It does not come with any batteries, Sounds good in theory, but does it work? So far we have to say it has helped, to a great extent. It certainly has a calming effect, but it has not had the "magic" effect of putting the baby to sleep. We will certainly keep trying the device and update as we progress. This is the only reason I refrained from giving it 5 stars.Overall this is a well made item, that certainly has a calming effect. Recommended.

Very handy to have put and about, comes with a case as well to keep it protected although the case doesn't seem to lock properly. Seems to do the job!

This is a really good idea and now having seen and used it I can't understand why it wasn't thought of by someone earlier but then again we use baby sleeping bags, the gro clock, the gro blinds, gro hangers and gro eggs in our house and having used all of them for quite some time now I also can't see why they were not thought of earlier. The Gro company appears to have done it again and thought of a really useful product for parents which I think will be another hit for them.

The idea behind the Gro Hush Baby Calmer is that babies respond to white noise and it calms them as it is similar to the noises they hear whilst in the womb. You hold the calmer near or against your baby's ear when you are calming them and they can then hear the white noise. We have in the past used an app on our phone of different white noise sounds such as a hoover, tumble dryer and hair dryer to calm our baby and the theory does work as I know other parents who have done the same.
